Rockness #4 – Chase & Status

Chase & Status

Are you looking forward to playing the wild north of Scotland at Rockness?

Yes – we were there last year for a DJ set but confusion with flights meant I was late and didn’t get to play for long…this time that won’t happen.

Festivals are often associated with rock bands – do you ever have any problems fitting into festivals?

Not at all. These days festivals are about more than a genre – good music live is still good music.

You’ve remixed a bunch of songs in the past – anyone else on the horizon?

Nothing I can go into right now I’m afraid but of course….

You produced some tracks on Rihanna’s ‘Rated R’ album. How does it feel to be associated with such a massive artist?

It feels great. It was crazy hearing our tunes in that domain and she loves our beats so it works well. We work closely with Roc Nation so there’ll be plenty more.

Why the name Chase & Status?

We’ve been asked this question for over six years now – when we were younger we were tagged ‘chase’ & ‘status’ individually – when we hooked up we threw in the ampersand.

And finally, what’s the best way to survive the summer festival heat – beer or water?

Water on a serious note – we don’t want dehydrated fans…but to let your hair down – beer and spirits.
