1. The eagle-eyed among you will have noticed on our Facebook and Twitter that we are taking over Stereo, Glasgow on March 5 to host a charity gig, with proceeds going towards Action For Children. So far the line-up boasts some of the country’s finest rock acts in Carnivores, The Darien Venture and No Island. There’s more bands still to be announced, and ticket details too, so keep an eye out.

2. Bad news for fans of Edinburgh trio Scrap Brain who announced on their website that effervescent singer Angie Clarke has left the band, meaning that they’re currently taking an indefinite hiatus. Cue money-spinning reunion in a few years.

3. Read all about boy-done-good Richy Muirhead in local rag the Paisley Daily Express here and take a gander too at his fine work over here as he begins to unveil the nominees for this year’s Scottish Alternative Music Awards. Don’t get that mixed up with the Scottish New Music Awards now, who opened up nominations today for their own awards. Unfortunately, we attended the 2011 Scottish New Music Awards – it was awful. Will this year be the same? Maybe. Yes.
