The Heebie Jeebies

THE HEEBIE JEEBIES/The 13th Note, Glasgow/02.03.11

You’re playing Glasgow tomorrow night, as well as a number of other Scottish shows after that. Why should people head down and check you out?

They should head down because all the bands we know who have played Scotland keep telling us how mental and up for it Scottish crowds are. But we don’t believe it! So the only way to prove us wrong is for people to come and act mental and Scottish! Otherwise those bands that lied to us will get a good old Glasgow kiss to the head!

How would you describe your music in three words?

DISCOMBOBULATING JANK ROCK! Jank rock being a mixture of the ethics of advertising jingles and the spirit of punk rock.

How important is touring for the Heebie Jeebies?

It’s the only way!

In what state of mind is your music best listened to?

Probably pre-sex! Our music will get any man women or hermaphrodite pumped full of blood for love and cuddles!

What is in store for the band in the next five years?

Album after album! Tour after tour! And hopefully a big legal dispute and a death. We wouldn’t like to deviate from tradition.

What gives you the heebie jeebies?

Shit bands and bad breath.

And finally, if you could give the heebie jeebies to one person, who would it be?

Anyone with a perm. Kevin Keegan in his hey day, for example.

The Heebie Jeebies’ gig at the 13th Note in Glasgow on 2 March is being put on by onewordPResents, a joint venture between The Daily Dose and Sound Surrounds/Define Pop. Supporting will be Scottish talent Johnny Reb, Bwani Junction and Fiction Faction. 8pm. £5. Do it.
