1.  Voting is underway for the NME Music Photography Awards 2010 – and there’s a bunch of Scots in it. With some very good photos. Previous Photo Friday featurees James MacKenzie and Luke Joyce are doing pretty well in the portrait section, whilst fellow Scot Jessica Newell is in the top ten too. Go vote!

2. Edinburgh’s The Stagger Rats‘ video for their single ‘See Through Spiders’ is finally available to be streamed online. It’s connected to the Danny Dyer film PIMP and is directed by actor Robert Cavanah, who also stars in the film. Dancing females in first video = they’ve made it. Almost. Be sure to catch a New Talent Thursday Q&A with the band in the coming weeks.

3. Spurred on by the recent Mercury Music Prize, fellow Scottish music blog Radar have come up with the Scotsman Radar Prize. In a similar(ish) fashion to the Mercury Prize, it gives unsigned Scottish bands the chance to win big – and all you need to do is submit a track. You can win recording time, a single release, photo shoot and more. The cut-off date for submissions is October 15 – follow the link for more information.
