dan le sac Vs Scroobius Pip
You’re playing at Rockness this year. Are you going to ‘rock’ Loch Less? [sic]
(Scroobius Pip): I don’t even know what that means! I’m looking forward to visiting Loch Ness again though – haven’t been since I was very young.
Do you think there’s a lot of repetitive, generic music on the bill at Rockness?
Noooooo I don’t think so! There seems to be some good variation – Crystal Castles, Aphex Twin, Zane Lowe, Vampire Weekend, Rob da Bank….
Why should people take the time to come check you out at the festival?
Because whilst there is good variation there isn’t anyone doing the same as us! Who could resist a mix of banging beats and lyrics about suicide, murder and trains?
Is Scotland somewhere that you’re fond of? Or is just some country at the top of England?
I think Scotland is great. Scotland always brings out the rowdiest crowds on the tours. Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh have all been really good to us in the past. And I have family in Scotland too so it’s a big thumbs up from me.
Is dan le sac Vs Scroobius Pip festival music or is it sweaty club music?
Both. We love the fact that we get to adapt our set and do both. Over the last three or four years we have played hundreds of festivals and they are always a great place to win over new people as well as giving our fanbase a different experience to traditional venues.
Tell me an interesting fact about dan le sac Vs Scroobius Pip that not many people know about.
We are fictional characters played by different actors at each gig.
Who’s more talented – dan le sac or Scroobius Pip?
I think the ‘vs’ sign is more talented than either of us. It really holds things together when things get tough. It has saved many a live show when we have been below par.
And finally, does the Loch Ness monster exist?
Yes. Yes it does. And it lives in Rob da Bank’s ponytail.
